Before you embark on cardio exercises, you have to know what they are. These are exercises that are aimed at increasing the heart rate. This, in simple terms, means that any physical activity that increases the rate at which your heart beats can be regarded as a cardio exercises. These exercises have immense benefits to both your physical and mental wellbeing. Other than increasing the blood circulation in the body, these exercises also tone the body muscles, reduce stress, burn fats stored in the body hence reducing the chances of heart diseases, obesity and other weight related complications. You need not go to the gym to exercise because there are simple cardio exercise at home you can that will give the same results as the exercises you would have done at the gym. I will introduce you to three top cardio exercises that will get your heart beating faster than ever.

Rope jumping is cheap and can give you a great workout. You will need to do 100 jumps a set as fast as you can, without resting in between reps. You can do 2 to 3 sets per session, three sessions a week. The step workout is another great but simple cardio workout exercise that involves exercising on a stair step. You do this by stepping on the step on one leg then shifting your body weight to that leg. Do this 12 times before changing to the other leg. You can alternate to doing it sideways if it starts becoming boring or monotonous in order to make the home exercise routines creative and fun.

Lastly, there is the up and down exercise. This exercise is simple and requires no equipment, it is one of the best cardiovascular activities. First, you take a standing position then go down very fast and do a push-up before returning to standing position as fast as possible. Repeating these steps continuously will work in increasing your heart rate significantly.
