If you want a location that will ensure that your special day will be a memorable one, castle wedding venues should be a consideration. These grand structures will provide a picturesque location for a wedding to take place.
Be aware that the age of a castle will mean that there is limited scope for the types of gathering that can take place there. It is unlikely that any changes to the building can take place except for some minor decoration, which may be confined to certain areas. If there will be rooms or areas that you will not have access to, find out whether this will affect the wedding party.
The grounds of the castle are likely to be as spectacular as the structure itself so determine whether it would also be possible to use this if necessary. Find out whether additional structures, such as a canopy and lighting can be temporarily erected on the grounds of the castle for the length of time required.
If you are planning on having the reception at the castle as well as the ceremony, consider whether the kitchen facilities are of a suitable standard for the caterers. Though it depends on the size of the castle, the rooms are likely to be large but you must still consider whether it is large enough for the number of guests that you have. In addition to tables and seats, ensure there is enough space for a dance floor and a band or DJ.
If you use a castle as your wedding reception venue it will often be set in the countryside, so take into account whether it will be easy for your guests to attend and whether there is sufficient parking to accommodate everybody. If the building is not well known, it may be prudent to provide guests with some information on how to get there with the wedding invitation.
