Not only is Chicago the biggest city in Illinois, but it is also the biggest city in the entire Mid-west section of the United States.  This being said, if you are planning a trip to this part of the Country, chances are you will at some point be stopping in this city.  And why not?  It is a great place to visit because there is so much to see and do!  If you are planning to be in Chicago at any point, there are many things to consider including flights and a rental car if needed but the most important thing you need to think about is making sure you have a roof over your head.  There are many great places to stay in this city and since chances are, you will want to be in the centre of it all, here is a list of some Chicago downtown hotels:

-The Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile has 500 rooms, Air-Conditioning and Cable TV.
-The Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago Metro has 398 rooms and 42 suites, air-conditioning, coffee maker in each suite and many other amenities.
-The Fairfield Inn and Suites Downtown has 185 rooms, data line and many other things to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
-The peninsula Chicago has 339 suites, mini bar and complimentary newspaper.

Of course, there are more places to stay in downtown Chicago but in order to guarantee that you will be able to stay in a room in a downtown Chicago Inn, you should consider booking in advance in you know when you will be in town.  Chicago is a popular tourist and business travel destination so rooms do go quick and without a booking you may find yourself having to stay somewhere far from the downtown core if you are able to secure a room at all.
