While it may not have struck your mind that having a dirty diaper bag was important, there are actually quite a few positive reasons for having one on hand.
Most mothers have at least one diaper bag. The diaper bag is used to carry clean diapers, wet baby wipes and other necessary items that a baby needs during the day. It is an essential item to take with you whenever you go out with baby.
The problem that many mothers face, however, is that they do not know what to do with the used diapers. It is not very hygienic to put them back in the same diaper bag once they are soiled. That is where the dirty diaper bag comes in handy. You finally have a place where you can put the dirty diapers until you get home and are able to get rid of them. You can rest assured that clean diapers are staying uncontaminated while the dirty ones are stored away.
Another great reason for carrying a dirty diaper bag is that no matter where you are you will always have a place to put soiled diapers. It can sometimes be quite a struggle finding a place to properly dispose of soiled diapers and it can take a lot of your time trying to find a suitable location for them. It is so much more convenient to place diapers in a dirty diaper bag and wait till you get home to get rid of them.
It is important to both you and your new baby that you have fun and loving times together. However if you are frustrated with where to put dirty diapers or concerned about other matters you will not enjoy your time together as much. Diaper bags are meant to be for clean diapers only, not for dirty diapers. If you end up putting soiled diapers back into the diaper bag you may end up ruining the bag or spreading germs and disease around. That is why having a specific bag to carry your soiled diapers is a good idea.
Everyone has tried to carry soiled diapers in paper bags, and everyone has most likely experienced the bag becoming wet and tearing. You really should not put soiled diapers in plastic bags or paper bags, but they should go in their own special dirty diaper bag. My baby diaper bag has a special waterproof bag in it that I had made to put my dirties in. Investing in a dirty diaper bag is one of the best things you can do. It will not only help organize your life, but you will be calm and relaxed around baby knowing that soiled diapers are properly cared for.
