Double chins, as they are commonly referred, are pieces of saggy fat in the lower portions of the region of a neck that make a person appear as if their neck contains two chins. They are most common in individuals who are overweight, obese, and aged. The material that makes up the double chin is, of course, 100% fat. Unfortunately, the area of the neck becomes a storage site for extra human fat. These secondary chins themselves become most noticeable in humans when they tilt their head and act as if they are staring downward; doing the opposite, looking straight ahead gets rid of it to some extent for many people. Thus, double chins are areas of fat around the region of a neck that make it seem as if some people have a second chin.
Fortunately for those unlucky souls who have double chins and want to get rid of them as quickly as possible, there are exercises that they can do. Below are some examples of exercises for a double chin that may or may not work, but are worth trying for some time.
Exercise 1: Do a lot of cardiovascular exercise: The reason that you have a lot of extra fat around your neck is probably because you need to lose some of your body fat percentage. While it is physically impossible to make yourself lose weight specific to the area of a neck, fat cells all around the body will dissipate as more and more weight is removed from your body.
Exercise 2: Neck stretching: Lie on a pillow and tilt your head so that your neck is facing upwards. Make sure you are comfortable (the bedroom may be an ideal place for this exercise), and hold this position for up to three minutes. Engage in this practice at least three times a day.
Exercise 3: Chew sugarless gum often. Sugarless gum contains hardly any calories, and the act of chewing burns some calories; plus, you are exercising the muscles specific to the neck and throat itself. Since you are targeting the neck area, over time this strategy may decrease the weight in your face and neck!
