Mafia wars is text based application game for Facebook. The application has gained great popularity, in 2009 there was approximately 25.9 million users playing the game. Mafia Wars is based on completing various crimes to advance up in the criminal world. Every time a job is completed the players character earns some experience points, which help the character level up. But you need to know which are the Mafia Wars best jobs to be had.

The game is set in New York as well as Little Italy, however the player may choose to move to a different city once he reaches a certain level. The places that are available are Cuba, Las Vegas, Paris, and Moscow. Each area gives the player more jobs and real estate to choose from. Each area also has a minimum level requirement, if a character has not reached that particular level, he cannot enter the area. Every new player automatically starts in New York, and from there you can begin leveling up until you reach the next area.

The game is text based, with a large variety of images to enhance the overall feeling, so you are not able to actually see your character, only his stats and the avatar. To progress you will be needing energy points, these are used to complete the various jobs through out the application. It takes awhile for your energy to recharge, once you used it all up. You can also invite friends to join your clan and fight other clans.

Make sure that you and your friends have different characters so that you can go after the best jobs in Mafia Wars.

Fighting requires stamina points, these also recharge over a period of time. If you win the fight with another clan you gain a certain amount of experience and cash, if you attack the same player until he runs out of health, he will die and be sent to the hospital, where he will have to pay a fee to be healed.

Mafia wars has been sued by Mob wars, another similar application. Users should not try to replicate any of the jobs or they may find themselves in jail or dead.
