Tattoo removal is big business. There’s something like 40 million Americans with tattoos, and who knows how many of them at some point will seek out a way of removing some of the tattoo ink from their skin for whatever reason. If and when the time comes, what should they do? Or rather, what should someone who wants to remove a tattoo NOT do, actually?

Tattoo RemovalTo start with, they shouldn’t get their hopes up using a product like Wrecking Balm tattoo removal, Tat B Gone, Tattoo off, Tattoo Away, or any of these over the counter creams. Yes, they might work, but they probably won’t.

Secondly, they shouldn’t try and save money using other over the counter products, like TCA tattoo cream. Again, it might work but it might not. It also might scar you. Sounds fun, no? TCA tattoo cream is best to be avoided.

The third thing they shouldn’t do is try and cover the tattoo up with any at home tattoo methods. This is likely to make the problem worse and result in a tattoo yet even more worthy of tattoo removal services!

Lastly, while they should seek the services of a trained tattoo removal clinician or professional, they should avoid old school likes dermabrasion, sanding, and excision. Removing a tattoo this way is prone to permanent damage and scarring to the skin. So while they will remove a tattoo, they’ll probably leave a scar. This isn’t very good for the person who wanted to have their tattoo gone.

What it comes down to is that what you should do is seek the services of a trained professional who offers the technique that proven itself time and time again: laser tattoo removal. Removing a tattoo with lasers is expensive and painful, yet it won’t leave a scar and it will work! These last two points are the only ones that matter!
