Any good kitchen needs to contain a certain few key items in order to function well and be as efficient as possible. When it comes to storage, it will have a good mix of kitchen cabinets and pantry cabinets. The kitchen cabinets will be used to store all of the equipment and pots and cutlery items, whilst the pantry storage cabinets will be used for all of the foods. It is, however, of key importance that all of these cabinets are kept clean and tidy all year.

Kitchen PantryWhen it comes to cleaning the house, it often seems that the pantry cabinets are largely overlooked. Quite why this is isn’t clear but it could be because they are quite shallow and light and therefore often appear clean. However, it is important to try to clean the pantry cabinets at least once or twice each year.

When you come to clean them, first of all empty all of the food items out onto a nearly table. Once you have done this you will have easy access to the cabinets and will be able to wipe them all down using a cloth and kitchen spray to disinfect any nasty area.

After you have spent some time clearing out the inside of the cabinets then you should turn your attention to the items that were in there. If anything has leaked and is sticky you should throw this out. You should also look to clean off any items that are intact, and yet a little bit dirty. For those items that you are looking to use in a short time, little action needs to be taken.

Last of all, this is a good opportunity to clear out the items in the pantry that have expired and gone out of use. Check the dates on each one and get rid of anything that you cannot use anymore.

All of this will help you to maintain clean and tidy pantry.
