Most people when deciding on what to use for their wedding centerpiece decorations will probably think of flowers, candles or maybe balloons. They are very popular and there are hundreds of photos available on the internet or in magazines to provide inspiration.
Floral centerpieces can be modern and exciting so do not be put off thinking they need be the same as those seen at many other weddings. Flowers offer many advantages over other items you could use in your displays as the variety of colors and types is endless. You can make a tall arrangement by keeping the stems or use only the flower heads floating on water or interspersed with fruit. You could even just use the petals scattered around candles or in a glass vase on their own. To keep costs down, silk flowers could be chosen over fresh flowers. These allow your wedding table centerpieces to be prepared ahead of time. Perhaps you fancy arranging them yourself which you would not have time to do on the day.
Weddings and candles work well together with their romantic connotations. This makes them a perfect choice to be used in your centerpiece display. As with flowers they come in any color that you have chosen for your wedding theme. They can also be found in tall and thin or short and broad sizes or any combination thereof. They can be stood on their own, perhaps on mirrored tiles, in candelabras, in wine bottles, lanterns or many other vessels. Combine a few different shapes and sizes into one display or add flowers, petals, water or glass stones to produce a stunning effect.
Balloons are maybe less well regarded due to their typical association with children’s parties. There are however special metallic or pearlised versions that can produce a very attractive wedding centrepiece. Matching color schemes is not a problem and they make ideal DIY centrepieces due to their ease of filling with helium and arrangement with ribbon ties and small weights to hold them down. Use different ribbon lengths within one display to make them vertically interesting.
These days so many people share wedding photos via the internet that you should be overwhelmed with pictures to use as inspiration. Expand on other people’s ideas to come up with a wedding centrepiece that will suit your theme and budget.
